Football Club Notes – 12/03/2012

Adult Football

The league fixtures for our Senior and Reserve teams were released during the week.  The first few rounds of games are as follows:  v Omagh (home), v Trillick (home), v Derrylaughan (away), v Moortown (home) and v Ardboe (away).

Under 16 Football

Our Under 16’s made it two wins from two with a win over Stewartstown at home last Saturday.  After trailing by five points at half time the lads turned the game round in the second half and eventually won by seven.  Final score Eglish 4-09, Stewartstown 1-11.

The next few fixtures for our Under 16’s are as follows: Saturday 24th March at 4pm, away v Coalisland; Saturday 31st March at 4pm, at home v Clonoe; Friday 6th April at 6.45pm, away v Pomeroy.

All Ireland Fresher’s Success

Well done to Conall McNulty who played left corner back for Queen’s University in their All Ireland Fresher’s Final victory over D.C.U. recently.  They won the title on a 4-10 to 4-06 scoreline.

Tyrone Under 21′s

Good luck to Gregory Jordan and the Tyrone Under 21 panel in their preliminary round fixture against Fermanagh in the Ulster Championship this Wednesday evening, 14th March in Brewster Park, Enniskillen at 8pm.

Underage Kick Start

The Kick-Start programme for coaching and games for Under 6’s, Under 8’s and Under 10’s boys and girls has began and is being held on Monday evenings, from 6.45-7.45pm, sharp.  Everyone welcome and all help appreciated.

St Patrick’s Day Parade

The club will participate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parish Parade on Saturday 17th March.  All youth players and members from Under 12 to Under 18 from both the football and Camogie clubs are to be at the Sport’s Hall at 10am for a parade to St. Patrick’s Church.  All are asked to wear their club gear with crest.

Club Membership

Club membership for 2012 is now being collected.  Membership can be paid at the Sports Hall after Mass on Saturday evening from 8.15 to 8.30pm and on Sunday morning, from 11.45 to 12.00midday.  We’d like to see all existing club members re-new their membership for 2012 and we welcome any new members for the year ahead.  Membership costs as follows: Adults £30; Senior Citizens £10; Student £10; Youth £10.  Membership is to be paid before 31st March.

Senior Scor

Well done to our Quiz Team who have made it through to the Ulster Final after they defeated their opponents from Fermanagh and Donegal at the weekend.  The Ulster Final is in St. Celia’s College in Derry on Saturday 24th March, starting at 5pm.

Club Lotto

The Lotto result for Monday 5th March was as follows: winning numbers were 1, 6, 21, and 24.  There were six ‘Match 3’ winners; Susan McAnenly, Eileen Mallon, Annette Jordan, Teresa Muldoon, Celine Hunter and Paul Boylan.  The next Lotto draw is to be held on Monday 12th March, Jackpot is £4,600.

Gym Circuits

Male and Female Adult Gym Circuits are closed for ten days and will recommence on Wednesday 21st March.  The circuits are being held in the Sports Hall Gym on Wednesday evenings from 8pm to 9pm.  Everyone welcome.

Sympathy

The club extends its sympathy to Begley family (Pomeroy) and McMahon family (Galbally) on their recent bereavements.
