Under 18 (Minor) Football
The Under 18’s began their league campaign in Grade 2A on Sunday with a home game against Gael Naomh Padraig (Augher and Clogher amalgamation), in Fr. Connolly Park. Their next game is away to Derrylaughan on Tuesday 3rd April at 6.45pm.
The next few fixtures after that are as follows: Thursday 12th April at 7pm, away v Naomh Padraig (Edendork and Killyman amalgamation); Tuesday 17th April at 7pm, at home v Stewartstown; Wednesday 25th April at 7pm, away v Kildress; Wednesday 9th May at 7.15pm, at home v Moortown.
Under 16 Football
Our Under 16’s were beaten by Clonoe at home at the weekend. In a close game, the lead changed hands a few times during the hour but our lads were eventually beaten. Final score Eglish 3-09, Clonoe 4-10. Their next game is away to Pomeroy on Friday 6th April at 6.45pm.
The next few fixtures after that are as follows: Friday 20th April at 7pm, at home v Naomh Mhuire (Edendork and Killyman amalgamation); Saturday 5th May at 4pm, away v Stewartstown; Saturday 12th May at 4pm, at home v Coalisland; Saturday 2nd June at 4pm, away v Clonoe.
Under 14 Football
The Under 14’s begin their league campaign in Grade 3A on Tuesday 8th May at 7.15pm, with an away game against Moy. This is followed by a home game v Naomh Mhuire (Edendork and Killyman amalgamation) on Monday 14th May at 7.30pm.
Under 8 and Under 6 Football.
Coaching has commenced from 6pm to 7pm on Thursday evenings for Under 6’s and Under 8’s. It will continue at this time on Thursday evenings for the remainder of the season with the exception of Holy Week when it will be on Tuesday evening (April 3rd) also at 6pm. Sean Murtagh will be in contact with parents directly reference Under 10’s who will be coached separately. All parents are reminded that club membership is now due for 2012.
Tyrone Minors
Well done to Conor McKenna and Tyrone Minors who recorded their third straight win in the Ulster Minor League at the weekend with a win over Donegal. Tyrone Minors are managed by our Senior team manager, Mickey Donnelly.
Tyrone Under 21’s
Good luck to Gregory Jordan and the Tyrone Under 21 panel in their Ulster Championship semi final game against Down this Wednesday 4th April in Casement Park, Belfast at 8pm.
GAA Easter Camp for Children with Mild Learning Disabilities (MLD)
Many of you have seen the great work that has been done to remove the barriers to participation with increasing the accessibility and opportunities for adults with (MLD) to play Gaelic games, in particular at Healy Park (Omagh), Clones and in the near future at Croke Park.
The GAA Easter Camp initiative on Thursday 12th April at 2.30-4.30pm in Dungannon Leisure Centre will commence plans to develop a team for children with MLD to represent Tyrone at National League half time games. This opportunity will increase children’s’ confidence and self esteem, and to be part of a team. Many parents of children with a classroom assistant have been enquiring about such initiatives. Galbally 3 & 5 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Galbally Community Support Fund are holding a 3 & 5 Mile Fun Run / Walk on Saturday 7th April at 12midday. The Fun Run / Walk will leave from Galbally Community Centre, registration starts from 9.30am. We encourage everyone to support this.
Club Membership
Club membership for 2012 is still being collected. Membership can be paid at the Sports Hall after Mass on Sunday morning, from 11.45 to 12.00midday. We’d like to see all existing club members re-new their membership for 2012 and we welcome any new members for the year ahead. Membership costs as follows: Adults £30; Senior Citizens £10; Student £10; Youth £10.
Club Lotto
The Lotto result for Monday 26th March was as follows: winning numbers were 9, 12, 15, and 18. There were no ‘Match 3’ winners. The next Lotto draw is to be held on Monday 2nd April, Jackpot is £4,750.
Gym Circuits
Male and Female Adult Gym Circuits are being held in the Sports Hall Gym on Wednesday evenings from 8pm to 9pm. Everyone welcome.
Roan Primary School Centenary Gala Ball
Roan Primary School held their Centenary Gala Ball at the weekend in the Sports Hall and an excellent night was had by all in attendance. The Sports Hall looked fantastic and it was clear to be seen how much great work went into making the night a success. Well done to all involved.
