Camogie Club Notes

Senior

Last Wednesday, the seniors travelled to Derrylaughan to play Clan Eireann in the final game of the Tyrone League. This was an entertaining game but unfortunately had to be finished early due to poor light conditions.  However, the Eglish side was awarded the win.

This Sunday 29th, all roads lead to Eglish for the seniors’ first game in the Ulster Championship when they face Armagh Champions, Tullysarran. This is a home fixture for the Eglish side with the starting time still to be confirmed. Please come out and support the girls on their quest for Ulster glory.

U16

Congratulations to the U16 team and their management for clinching the championship title in Derrytresk last Friday evening. The large crowd that attended was rewarded with an excellent display of camogie from both sides and an exciting nail biting finish. At half time the Eglish girls were ahead by two goals but Edendork came out after half time with a flurry and scored two goals and a point unanswered to leave them in front. From then on, the Eglish side dug deep and picked off a few more scores to leave them four points ahead at the final whistle and take home the title. Congratulations also to Catherine Muldoon who received the much deserved player of the match award.

 U14

This week is the turn of the U14s in their championship final against fierce rivals Dungannon. These two sides have met twice previously this year, in the league and also the Feile county final, and Dungannon have come away on top narrowly on both occasions so this has the foundations to make for a super game. The game takes place in Edendork on Friday at 6pm, please come along to support the girls.

Tiny Tots

The final Blitz of the year will takes place in Garvaghy this Saturday. Details of times have been given to the players. Please remember to bring a packed lunch and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.

Hard Luck

The Camogie Club extends their commiserations to the Tyrone Minors who lost out to Mayo at the weekend in the All Ireland football final, especially to the boys from Eglish, Conor, Enda and Cormac and to our own senior goalkeeper Kelley Fay who was part of the background team.
