Seniors and Reserves
The Seniors and Reserves both had good wins over neighbours Moy at the weekend. The first half of the Senior game saw the teams evenly matched. Colm Byrne struck for a goal after ten minutes aided by two good scores from Pariac Martin and Conor McKenna to leave honours even at half time 1-2 to 0-5. After half time Peter McCann, Conor McKenna and Colm Byrne scored a point each in quick succession to leave the score 1-5 to 0-6. Eglish were then reduced to fourteen after Patrick Jordan received a second yellow, but Eglish drove on in the final twenty minutes with goals from Joesph Jordan, Colm Byrne and Gregory Jordan sealing the win, final score 4-7 to 0-8.
The Reserves unfortunately lost out in the Championship last Wednesday with another epic battle with Donaghmore, again going to extra time but unfortunately losing out by two points, 2-14 0-18. The Reserves bounced back on Sunday though with a commanding, impressive performance over Moy on scoreline of 2-19 to 2-8.
