Football Club Notes

Senior Football

The Seniors lost Donaghmore at the weekend in the Senior Club League on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-9. On Sunday St Eunan’s Letterkenny make the long trip to Eglish with a 12 noon throw-in.

Minors

The Minors played in the Ryan Tierney Memorial Tournament in Clogher on Sunday morning. They showed well in the first of the group games against Carrickmore battling to a 0-3 draw. In the second game against Scotstown, Eglish were well in control with Seamus Muldoon in great form scoring a goal but two late goals for Scotstown saw the Monaghan boys win by a point. Eglish put Kildress to the sword in their final group game winning by a few points. At this stage Eglish has qualified for the Shield Final versus Moy. An entertaining game needed extra time to separate the teams with Moy the victors by a point. A good run out for the boys and a promising start to the year. Thanks to Clogher GFC for a great tournament and their great hospitality.
