All Ireland Semi Final
This Sunday, 31st January, the seniors travel to Coralstown/Kinnegad GAA, Co Westmeath for the All Ireland Semi-final against Eyrecourt of Galway. Throw in at 2pm.
Having little Knowledge of this Galway team, the Eglish girls go into the game a little blindsided as to what they are facing but are determined to give of their all. It is well known that Galway is renowned for its camogie and hurling prowess and no team from this county can be underestimated, however, it’s all to play for on the day!
Under the guidance of manager Martin Curry along with his sons, Nathan and Odhran, the seniors have continued their training throughout December and January, including the normally “restful” Christmas period, in order to be fully prepared for what is the clubs biggest game in over two decades!
The committee and members would like to extend their best wishes and good luck to the entire panel, managers and mentors in Sunday’s semifinal. To date, this team has brought great honor and pride to the Parish and our full support will be behind the girls on Sunday.
Presentation Night

2016 – Golden Anniversary Celebrations
Anniversary Mass
Last Saturday night, the football and camogie club kicked off their Diamond and Golden anniversary celebrations with a mass to celebrate all those past and present players and members involved in the club through the years. We would like to thank Fr Sweeney for his lovely ceremony and thanks to all those who took part in the liturgy, singing and gifts. Also, we would like to extend our gratitude to the former players and committee members who travelled and made the effort to be with us on such a special occasion. Lastly, thanks to those who organized the refreshments in the sports hall afterwards.
Anniversary Gala Ball
It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years since the Camogie Club celebrated 40 years with their May Ball and the footballers 50 years with their banquet.
This time round, the two clubs are coming together under the St Patrick’s name to celebrate their 50 and 60 year anniversaries with a celebratory Gala Ball in the Hillgrove Hotel on 9th April, tickets £60.
