Presentation Night

On Friday 5th February we held our annual presentation night in Quinn’s Corner. With having had such a terrific 2015, there was a very full trophy table and lots of awards to be presented.

Chairperson Brenda Horsfield got proceedings underway welcoming all the players in attendance along with their family and friends, and also extended a warm welcome to the senior manager Martin Curry and special guest for the night, Cork Camog and All Star winner, Jen Curry.

Guest speaker Jen Curry, who has had an extremely successful sporting career with Cork Camogie, winning several All Irelands and selected four times for an All Star, took the microphone and emphasized the importance of playing a team sport for the development of young girls. How it creates and molds character as well as being a sport you can play together with all your friends.

Post Primary Awards – Captains Aisling Begley and Clionah Goodfellow collected the post primary league and championship shields. Coaches Award – Louise Daly, Most Promising – Aisling Begley, POY – Regan Fay

U14 Awards – Captain Emma Muldoon collected the U14 league and championship trophies. Coaches Award – Clionah Goodfellow, Most Promising – Molly Muldoon, POY – Shannon Gildernew

U16 Awards – Captains Leanne Donnelly, Amy Barrett and Megan Vincent collected the league, championship and Pan Celtic tournament trophies. Coaches Award – Aisling Byrne, Most Promising – Amy Barrett, POY – Leanne Donnelly

U18 Awards – Captain Laura Mason was presented with the league and championship trophies. Coaches Award – Niamh Byrne, Most Promising – Casey Gallagher, POY – Laura Mason

Martin Curry, the 2015 senior manager commended Eglish for the wonderful achievements they had in 2015 and presented senior captain Ciara Donnelly with the Tyrone championship cup.

Club person of the year was deservedly awarded to Mairead Mason and thanks was paid to Mairead for the effort she puts in every year, a lot of which goes unnoticed.

The Club would like to thank all of the coaches involved with each of the teams in 2015. The successes of 2015 was a direct reflection of the effort that our coaches and volunteers put in throughout the year.

Underage Training

Post Primary and U14 training continues in Loughview on Sunday afternoons from 12 – 1pm. Please arrive punctual to start sharp at 12pm.

Fundamentals

Fundamentals takes place on Thursday’s from 6.15-7.15. Parents must stay with their child/children for the duration.

Anniversary Gala Ball

This year the football and camogie clubs are coming together under the St Patrick’s name to celebrate their 50 and 60 year anniversaries with a celebratory Gala Ball in the Hillgrove Hotel on 9th April, tickets £60. Dinner will be followed by presentations and dancing to a live band.

Tyrone Legends

Well done to the Eglish ladies that are representing Tyrone in the “Legends” competition! More details to follow in the coming weeks.

Schools All Ireland Semi Final

Good luck to St Catherine’s College Armagh who take on Banagher College in the Schools All Ireland B Semifinal this Saturday 20th February at 2pm (Venue to be confirmed). The club sends special well wishes to the Eglish girls represented on the team.
