Adult Football
There was no Senior action at the weekend, on account of the National Football League Finals, however action resumes this weekend when we make the journey to Killyclogher, games on Sunday 1st May at 2.15 and 3.45.
Youth Football
Minors take to the field this in defence of their Championship title against Stewartstown. Game is currently in Fr Connolly Park at 7.00pm on Thursday.
The Under 14 team travelled Ardboe on Friday evening for their penultimate group game in the League. As in the previous week they came home with both points, Final score Ardboe 3-05 Eglish 5-17. The final group game is scheduled for this Thursday evening when we play host to Kildress.
Under 6, 8 & 10 Football continues on Thursdays at 6pm in Fr Connolly Park.
Other
The Cormac Run 2016 is took place on Saturday 23rd April. It was a busy morning with over 500 taking part in both the 10K and 5K races. Congratulations to all the participants and especially to Winners. Mens Winner Michael McLearnon (36.35) was followed home by Diarmuid O’Kane (37.41), third place went to local representative Conor McCann (38.45). The Women’s race was won by local girl Pauline McGurren (39.36), Second place went to Amy Lavery (43.31) and Tracey O’Donnell (44.15) was third home. The 5K race was won by Packie Mullan in the Mens section and the Ladies race was also won by a local girl, Casey Gallagher. Orders are now been taken for tickets for the Ulster Senior Football Championship First round game between Tyrone and Derry. The game is in Celtic Park on 22nd May. Congratulations and commiseration to our youth members that represented our club on Tyrone football teams at the weekend. Cormac Byrne on the Under 17 team that won the Jim McGuigan Cup and Matthew McGleenan on the Minor Team, that lost out by a point in the Minor League Final.
