Senior Football

The Reserves had a great victory at the weekend defeating Ardboe on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-13.

The Seniors weren’t as fortunate. Eglish started brightly and were 0-3 to 0-1 after 10mins with points coming from Emmet McKenna, Matthew Jordan and Sean McKillion. Ardboe dominated the remainder of the half with only one further point coming Matthew Jordan with Ardboe hitting two goals, Ardboe went in at half time leading comfortably 2-6 to 0-4.

The second half started well for Eglish, hitting the first two scores coming from Peter McCann and Mark Donnelly. Ardboe were still tagging on points and 20 mins into second half Ardboe still had breathing room with a 2-12 to 0-8 lead. On 22mins Eglish scored a great goal from a free with great thinking from Emmet McKenna who took the free quickly. This was followed by another great goal from Peter McCann 2 mins later, Eglish were in full control and followed this up with two points from frees from Peter McCann. On 26 mins the score was Eglish 2-10 to Ardboe 2-12, Eglish had a further goal opportunity but couldn’t convert and Ardboe pointed from a free. Final Score Eglish 2-10 Ardboe 2-13.

Scorers: Peter McCann 1-4(0-3f), Emmet McKenna 1-1(1-0f), Matthew Jordan 0-2 (0-1f), Mark Donnelly 0-2(0-1f) and Sean McKillion 0-1.

The Seniors are in championship action against Greencastle on Sunday 31 May in Gallbally at 3:30pm.

Minors

The Minors played their final league game at the weekend away to Moy losing on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-8.

U14s

The U14s had a great win in the Quarter-Final of the league defeating Loughmacrory 4-17 to 2-7. The U14s are Championship action on Saturday 30 May against Aghyaran at 1pm in Eglish.

Tyrone Summer Camp

The Tyrone Summer Camp will run in Eglish this year from the Monday 6 July to Thursday 9 July. Due to the number of camps running throughout the county coaches are required to deliver the coaching programme. To be eligible to coach at the Tyrone Summer Camps all coaches must have completed a GAA Foundation Coaching Award and Child Protection training, are vetted through Tyrone GAA, are actively coaching within their own club and lastly are prepared to attend the Summer Camp coaches training sessions. To register an interest in becoming involved in the Tyrone 2015 Summer Camps please email the following address tyronesummercamp@hotmail.com. A number of coaching courses will be run prior to the Summer Camps commencing which all coaches can avail of free of charge. There is a Child Protection Course on Monday 8 June at 7pm, Foundation Coaching Award on Friday 19 June at 9:30am, Award One Children’s Course Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June at 9:30am.

Strictly Showtime

The club are hosting Strictly Showtime on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 June, show starting at 8pm (Doors Open 7:30pm). The dancers are currently being put through their paces, with quite a few characters involved this event promises to be two nights of high quality entertainment and craic with dancers of all ages and ability taking part. Tickets are £20, U16s £10.

Congratulations to Eoin Daly and Louise Keeley on their recent engagement.

Lotto

The Lotto No’s for Monday 11 May were 10,13,17,15. There were four match three winners; Mairead Daly, Ailis Murtagh, Ciaran McVeigh and C Donnelly. The next Lotto draw will be held on Monday 25 May 2015, Jackpot is £2,000.
