Senior
Last Thursday the seniors took on a spirited Newbridge side in the Derry League. The Derry girls, just promoted to the senior league this year, attacked the game from the throw in and didn’t leave much in it at the half way mark. Eglish dug deep in the second half and with excellent play from Ciara and Leanne Donnelly, secured the win at the final whistle.
This Wednesday sees the beginning of the Tyrone League when Eglish are at home to Derrylaughan. Game at 7.30 in Pairc Cormac, please come along to support the Tyrone League.
Post Primary League Champions
The Post Primary team was back in action on Sunday evening when they played Edendork in the last league game of the year. With both teams having won all their matches to date, this left it that this game would be the league final – and what a mouthwatering tie it turned out to be! All supporters in attendance were treated to a fantastic game with Eglish narrowly winning by a goal, final score 3-01; 2-01.
Well done to the whole team and to all the mentors – brilliant to get the first silverware of the year!
These two teams will meet again in the Championship final on Monday 29th June – venue and time to be confirmed.
U16 Championship
The U16s take on Dungannon in the semifinal of the Championship next Wednesday 24th June in Paric Cormac at 7.30pm. As we have come to expect over the years, all games against our neighbours Dungannon are tough encounters and this match will be no different. Good luck to all the players and managers. Please come show your support for the girls on Wednesday night!
All Ireland Feile
This weekend, Feile comes to Ulster for the second year running and Eglish are playing host to Camross from County Laois!
Eglish are also facilitating the play-off games with matches on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Teams from Roscommon, Kildare, Meath, Down, Laois, Armagh and Antrim will all be playing over the weekend in Eglish, so please come and support these girls and join with the festivities over the weekend!
The Club would like to wish the Feile team and all their coaches and mentors good luck over the weekend! We know much preparation has been put in over the past few months and we have no doubt it will show during the games!
Underage Training
U14 and U16 training on Wednesday; 5.45pm – 6.45pm in Fr Connolly Park.
There will be NO underage training this Saturday as Feile is on and Eglish are hosting a number of matches.
Strictly Spectacular!
Congratulations to everyone who took part in Strictly especially our camogs, Maria, Ciara, Caoimhe and Leanne who showed they are just as talented on the dance floor as the pitch! Many thanks also to those who helped in the preparation of the event and to those who helped out during.
