EGLISH ST. PATRICK’S G.A.C. CLUB NOTES

Adult Football

Our Senior team had mixed fortunes last week.  On Monday evening they travelled to Omagh and picked up two valuable league points that secured Division 1 status for 2012.  Final Score Omagh 2-08, Eglish 1-12.  However on Sunday they travelled to Greencastle and were beaten by 1-08 to 0-05.  Our Reserves suffered two away defeats when they were defeated by Omagh by 1-10 to 0-03 and then by Greencastle by 1-09 to 0-09.

The last remaining league game is away to Derrylaughan and is scheduled for Saturday 3rd September, Reserves at 2.15pm and Seniors at 3.45pm.

Our Seniors play Moortown this Sunday in what is the first game in the First Round of the Power NI Tyrone Senior Football Championship.  Throw-in at 2pm.  We encourage all supporters to come out and support our Senior side in the championship.

Under 16 Football

Our Under 16’s played an entertaining draw against Naomh Mhuire last week.  Final score Eglish 1-14, Naomh Mhuire 3-08.  Their next game is at home against Ardboe on Wednesday 17thAugust, followed by an away game to Donaghmore on Monday 22nd August.  Throw-in for both games is at 7.30pm.

The draw for the Grade 1 Under 16 Championship was made last week.  Eglish will play Ardboe in the First Round on Saturday 27th August at 11am.  Venue to be confirmed.

Under 13 Football

The Under 13 league is due to commence on Saturday 3rd September.  More details to follow.

Under 12 Football

The Under 12’s next match in the Go Games competition is away to Naomh Mhuire, in Edendork on Monday 15th August at 7pm.

Under 8 Go Games Football

Thanks to all who attended and helped at the latest round of Under 8 Go Games held in Eglish at the weekend.

Tyrone Under 16 Development Squad

Well done to Enda McElroy who was part of the Tyrone Under 16 Development squad that won the Buncrana Cup recently.  Tyrone beat Donegal in the Semi-Final by 1-10 to 0-08 and then defeated Derry in the Final by 3-09 to 0-06.

Cormac Trust 10K 2011

In 2009 The Cormac Trust held a very successful 10K & Fun Run with over 300 participants having completed the courses. And we are pleased to announce another 10K and Fun Run this year, on Saturday 3rd Sept, again with a similar format, based around Eglish Parish and starting in Eglish village, at 3pm.

This year a contribution from the moneys raised will also be given to the Michaela Foundation

Entry for either race is £10.  All participants get a free goody bag which includes a themed T-Shirt for the race.

Club Lotto

There was no Lotto draws held over the July Holidays.  The recent Lotto results are as follows: Monday 25thJuly, winning numbers were 2, 11, 14, 24, there were two ‘Match 3’ winners, Bridget Gray and Kieran Donnelly.  Monday 1stAugust, winning numbers were 8, 11, 14, 18, there were two ‘Match 3’ winners, Jackie Gildernew and Neville Weir.  Monday 8thAugust, winning numbers were 1, 7, 11, 13, there were six ‘Match 3’ winners, F. Sweeney, M. Ogle, D. Muldoon, K. Hagan and R. Jordan.    Lotto Jackpot for Monday 15th August is £3,200.

Gym Circuits

Male and Female Adult Gym Circuits are being held in the Sports Hall Gym on Wednesday evenings from 7.45pm to 9pm and on Sunday mornings from 9.50am to 11am.  Everyone welcome.  There are also Gym Sessions for Under 12′s and Under 14′s on Monday evenings from 7pm to 8pm.  For further details contact Matt McGleenan on 07717712177.

Local News

Congratulations to James Muldoon and Sorcha McCaul, Shane McCann and Nicola Devlin and Kieran Jordan and Alicia Kelly who all recently got married.  Congratulations also to Lorcan Martin and Kelly Hughes who got engaged and to Kevin and Madalene Hughes on the arrival of their new baby boy Conan.

Sympathy

The club extends its sympathy to the Duffy family (Moy) and the McCann family (Dungannon) on their recent bereavements.
