Proposed Starting Dates for Tyrone League

The proposed dates for the commencement of the various leagues in Tyrone are as follows: Adult, 1st April; Under 21’s, 13th June; Minors, 4thApril; Under 16, 3rd March; Under 14, 16th May; Féile, 14th April.  These dates will be confirmed over the next few weeks.

Club Membership

Club membership for 2012 is now being collected.  Membership can be paid at the Sports Hall after Mass on Sunday morning, from 11.45am. We’d like to see all existing club members re-new their membership for 2012 and we welcome any new members for the year ahead.

Senior Scor

Senior Scór starts at the end of January.  Anyone interested in taking part or contributing should contact Seamus Donnelly or any committee member.

Ulster Final of Trath na gCeist

The Ulster Final of Trath na gCeist was held in Eglish last Friday evening.  There was a good turn-out of teams from across the nine Ulster counties.  Eglish finished in third place with Cornafean from Cavan winning.

Club Lotto

The Lotto result for Monday 16th January was as follows: winning numbers were 2, 5, 22, and 23.  There were three ‘Match 3’ winners: Mairead Daly, Rachael McKearney and Anthony Daly.  The next Lotto draw is to be held on Monday 30th January, Jackpot is £4,250.

Coaching Conference

The Ulster GAA Council Coaching Conference is being held at the Glenavon House Hotel on Saturday 28th January.  The conference will focus on Gaelic Games in education – teachers, coaches and educationalists are encouraged to participate.  For further information contact Dr. Eugene Young (Ulster GAA Director of Coaching and Games Development) on 07736349749 or eugene.young.ulster@gaa.ie.

Scór Success for Tyrone Clubs

Congratulations to Fintona, Greencastle, Omagh, Trillick and Carrickmore who represented our county with distinction in the Ulster Final of Scór na nÓg last recently.  A special word of congratulations to Trillick Quiz Team and Omagh Ballad Group who won titles.  They will go on now to represent Tyrone and Ulster in the All Ireland Final which is being held in Castlebar on Saturday 18th February.

All Ireland Junior Football Semi-Final

Congratulations to Derrytresk who won their All Ireland Semi-Final against Kerry and Munster champions Dromid Pearse’s at the weekend.

Gym Circuits

Male and Female Adult Gym Circuits are being held in the Sports Hall Gym on Wednesday evenings from 8pm to 9pm and on Sunday mornings from 9am to 10am.  Everyone welcome.

Badminton

There is badminton being held in the Sports Hall every Sunday evening from 7-9pm.  Any new members welcome, open to all from age 15 and upwards.

Congratulations to Anita and Ronan Daly on the birth of their new baby boy.

The club extends its sympathy to the Shields family (Dungannon) on their recent bereavement.
