Camogie Club Notes – 20/02/2012

Underage

Underage training for Under 6, Under 8 and Under 10 will recommence on Monday 27th February at 7pm in the Sports Hall.  This training is known as the “The Gaelic Start & Fundamentals Programme” and is aimed at girls and boys from 4-10 years.  The aim of this programme is to help coaches and parents plan and implement an effective and efficient coaching programme for children of all abilities.  The programme has been designed so that it can be used by children, parents and non coaching personnel.  It supports the developmental stages of all children regardless of ability.  It offers a variety of progressive, challenging and fun activities – warm-ups, games and skills, and includes activities that can be set up quickly & easily.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The club will participate in the forthcoming St Patrick’s Day Parish Parade on Saturday 17th March details to be confirmed.

Croagh Patrick Challenge

A large number of senior members and players are taking part in the Croagh Patrick Challenge on Saturday 14th April.  This is a fundraising venture in conjunction with the Tyrone County Board; the girls will be looking for sponsorship to complete the climb with all funds for both club and county.

Variety Concert

The annual variety concert will take place in the Parochial Hall on Friday 23rd March.

Senior Team

The Senior team will participate in the annual 9-a-side St. John’s Tournament in Belfast on Saturday 24th March.  Gym Training continues on Wednesday and Friday nights in the Gym at 6.15 all members welcome.  The Senior season begins with an opening match in the Ulster League on the 4th April.  The seniors will compete in the Derry league which will begin the following week.
