Adult Football
Our Senior team collected their first point of the season in the opening league tie away to Derrylaughan. In a tight game there was never much between the teams and the game finished level, 1-08 apiece.
Our Reserves had a good win to collect two points with a final score line of Derrylaughan 0-09 Eglish 3-11.
This Sunday, 22nd April, our Senior and Reserve teams have their first home fixture with Moortown providing the opposition. Reserve game is at 2.15pm and Senior game is at 3.45pm. We hope to see a good home support turn out to cheer on our players.
Under 18 (Minor) Football
The Under 18’s collected another two points last Friday evening when Naomh Padraig (Derrytresk and Brockagh amalgamation) conceded a walkover.
They followed that up with a draw at home on Tuesday evening past when they played a Stewartstown team that is sitting top of the league. Final score was 0-09 apiece.
The next few fixtures after that are as follows: Wednesday 25th April at 7pm, away v Kildress; Wednesday 9th May at 7.15pm, at home v Moortown; Friday 18th May at 6.45pm, away v Derrylaughan; Friday 25th May at 7.30pm, away v Moy.
Under 16 Football
Our Under 16’s played Pomeroy in the league last week but were beaten on a score line of 5-06 to 2-04.
The next few fixtures after that are as follows: Friday 20th April at 7pm, at home v Naomh Mhuire (Edendork and Killyman amalgamation); Saturday 5th May at 4pm, away v Stewartstown; Saturday 12th May at 4pm, at home v Coalisland; Saturday 2nd June at 4pm, away v Clonoe.
Under 14 Football
Congratulations to our U14 players who won their group section of the Grade 2 Feile at the weekend. The team had three great performances defeating Derrytresk, Tattyreagh and Moy. Well done to their coaches Gerard McGurk. Bartley Finnegan and Matthew McGleenan. Training continues on Wednesday 5.30pm to 6.45pm and Friday 6pm to 7.15pm this week.
Eglish have been drawn against Fintona in the semi-final of the Grade 2 Feile, date and venue to be confirmed.
The Under 14’s begin their league campaign in Grade 3A on Tuesday 8th May at 7.15pm, with an away game against Moy. This is followed by a home game v Naomh Mhuire (Edendork and Killyman amalgamation) on Monday 14th May at 7.30pm.
Under 8 and Under 6 Football
Coaching has commenced from 6pm to 7pm on Thursday evenings for Under 6’s and Under 8’s. It will continue at this time on Thursday evenings for the remainder of the season. Sean Murtagh will be in contact with parents directly reference Under 10’s who will be coached separately. All parents are reminded that club membership is now due for 2012.
Pairc Chormaic
A lot of hard work has gone into the current development at Pairc Chormaic. The club would like to thank everyone for their help and support, and would welcome any new and additional support.
Club Lotto
The Lotto result for Monday 16th April was as follows: winning numbers were 2, 13, 14, and 15. There were three ‘Match 3’ winners; Frances Daly, Nuala Fox and Ronan Daly. The next Lotto draw will be held on Monday 23rd April, Jackpot is £4,850.
Gym Circuits
Male and Female Adult Gym Circuits are being held in the Sports Hall Gym on Wednesday evenings from 8pm to 9pm. Everyone welcome.
Sympathy
The club extends its sympathy to the Holmes family (Benburb) on their recent bereavement.
