Memorable weekend for Eglish girls at Féile in Dublin

Congratulations to the Eglish St. Patrick’s Féile team who had a successful and enjoyable few days in Dublin last weekend. Over the years Féile weekend has become one of the most popular events in the GAA and camogie calendars.

Events began on the Thursday evening as the team and mentors took part in the huge parade that went from Croke Park to Dublin city centre. There were clubs from every county in Ireland represented and it was a huge achievement for the girls to be awarded the honour of being the “Best Presented Team” at Féile 2012.

This is an excellent award and much credit must go to the mentors Clare Jordan, Annette Jordan, Edel Barrett and, Mairead Mason. Credit also to all the parents and girls themselves who ensured they were perfectly presented.  Well done to everyone involved.

Over the weekend Eglish played the Clane (Kildare), St. Peregrine’s (Dublin) and Westport (Mayo). They were defeated in their first two matches but confidence was growing and they finished with a great win over Westport in the final game.

Below is a photo of the girls and their mentors outside Croke Park prior to the parade.
