Adult Football
Seniors commenced their League campaign last Tuesday, when we hosted Omagh in Pairc Chormaic. Result, Eglish 2-09 Omagh 2-19. Having hosted the 2014 County Champions on Tuesday we travelled to the home of 2015 County Champions, Trillick, on Sunday. This was the first official outing for the reserves for the year. Unfortunately neither team came home with the points. Results were Seniors Trilick 0-13 Eglish 0-12, Reserve Trillick 3-12 Eglish 0-10.
As National Football League Finals are on this weekend the next Senior outing is on Sunday 1st May, when we make the journey to Killyclogher, games currently scheduled for the normal times of 2.15 and 3.45.
Youth Football
There was no Minor activity last week, but preparations continue for their championship quarterfinal against Stewartstown.
The Under 14 team travelled to Moortown on Friday evening and restored their winning ways with a three point victory, final score Moortown 6-11 Eglish 6-14. This Friday, 22nd, the Under 14 make the journey back to the loughshore, Ardboe is the destination on this occasion, throw in 7.00pm
Having been postponed last week the Feile will now take place in Eglish on Tuesday 19th. We will be hosting Dungannon and Kildress in Fr Connolly Park. First game commences at 6.45pm.
Under 6, 8 & 10 Football continues on Thursday 6th at 6pm in Fr Connolly Park.
Youth teams are currently selling entries for a guess the score competition, the game is Sunday’s NFL Division 2 final.
Other
The Club Youth Officer, Conall Martin, and Children’s Officer, Annette McGleenan, are hosting a workshop on Wednesday 20th for all youth players between 12 and 18, coaches and parents. The workshops cover the following topics, “Sportsmanship and the Club Ethos” and “Building Mental Strength”. The first session will commence at 7.00pm, each session lasts 45min and there will be refreshments between workshops.
The Cormac Run 2016 is taking place on Saturday 23rd April. Registration from 10.00am with the off at 11.00am. There are two courses 5k and 10k. For further details and preregistration please visit cormacrun.org.
