Adult Football
Our Senior team exited at the first round of the championship yesterday when they were beaten by the reigning county champions, Dromore. Final score Eglish 1-09, Dromore 2-09.
Our Reserve team will play Dromore in the championship in Fr. Connolly Park, Eglish, this Friday evening, 24 August, at 7.30pm.
Both our Senior and Reserve teams will be back out for league action this Sunday, 26 August, for an away fixture against Coalisland. Note the earlier throw-in time for these games, Reserve at 12.00pm and Senior at 1.30pm.
Eglish’s remaining league games are against Trillick at home on Saturday 15 September and away to Ardboe on Saturday 29 September.
Under 18 (Minor) Football
Our Minors will play Moortown in the quarter-final of the Grade 2 Championship this Wednesday evening, 22 August, at 7.15pm in Fr. Connolly Park, Eglish.
The Minors have also qualified for the knock-out stages of the Grade 2 League and they will play Beragh on Sunday 9 September in Fr. Connolly Park, Eglish at 6.45pm.
Under 14 Football
Our Under 14’s were in action Strabane in the quarter-final of the Grade 3 League last Saturday. Played in summer sunshine, the Under-14 team had a super game against a physically bigger Strabane team. Playing with the wind in the first half the lads played great football against the odds, shocking Strabane to lead by four at half time. However, Strabne’s size proved the difference in the second half, but the lads never gave up and all gave an excellent account of themselves but they were eventually beaten. Many thanks to the parents who travelled to support the team.
The Under-14’s also play Strabane in the Grade 3 Championship semi-final, which is on Thursday 30 August at 7.15pm. Venue to be confirmed.
Club Lotto
The Lotto result for Monday 13 August was as follows: winning numbers were 18, 19, 22 and 24. There were two ‘Match 3’ winners: Sinead Goodfellow and Rose Jordan. The next Lotto draw will be held on Monday 20 August, Jackpot is £5,600.
