Camogie Club Notes

Underage Team

The Under-16 team are in action this Sunday 9 September against Eire Og, Carrickmore in the final of the Eileen Coney Cup (time and venue to be confirmed).

The Under-18′s played in the semi-final of the championship last week in Fr. Connolly Park against Dungannon. The Eglish girls played well in the first half and were leading at half-time. The second half was more evenly contested but Dungannon got in front at the very end to clicnh their place in the final. Well done to both teams for a great game of camogie and to all the girls and coaches involved.

The Post Primary team continued their unbeaten run when they beat Edendork in their final league game. Well done to all involved.

Go Games

Over thirty girls involved with the Under-6′s, Under-8′s and Under-10′s travelled to Derrylaughan last Saturday morning for a Go Games blitz. All the young girls got an opportunity to play in the matches. Thanks to all who helped and to the Derrylaughan club for hosting the blitz.

All Ireland Camogie Final

The club is running a bus to the All Ireland Camogie finals in Croke Park on Sunday 15 September. Players, coaches, parents or anyone interested should contact Mairead Mason.

Senior Team

The Senior team continues to train as normal in preparation for the Ulster Club fixtureon Sunday 14 October.

Tyrone Under-14 Team

Congratulations to all players and mentors involved with the Tyrone Under-14 team who had an emphatic win over Donegal in the Ulster semi-final played last Saturday. They now play Cavan in the Ulster Final this Saturday, 9 September. Time and venue to be confirmed.

Child Protection Courses

NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit and Sport NI are working in partnership with a number of sports governing bodies to deliver an “All Ireland Safeguarding in Sport and Leisure Conference” in Armagh City Hotel on Saturday 15 September. All coaches and mentors are ncouraged to attend.
