EGLISH ST. PATRICK’S G.A.C. CLUB NOTES
Adult Football
Our Senior team was defeated at home by Clonoe in the league on Wednesday evening of last week. Final Score: Clonoe 1-10, Eglish 0-08.
The Reserve team also lost their encounter. Final Score: Clonoe 1-14, Eglish 1-03.
There is no game this weekend due to Tyrone playing Monaghan in the Ulster SFC. The next round of league games is another mid week fixture on Wednesday 8thJune, at home to Ardboe. Match times for this game are Reserve 6.45pm and Senior 8.00pm. Other games after this fixture include Sunday 12th June at home v Errigal Ciaran, Sunday 19th June at home v Trillick and Sunday 26th June away v Derrylaughan.
Under 12 Football
Our Under 12’s will be competing in the Galbally Tournament this Saturday 4th June.
The Tyrone Under 12 Go Games commence on Saturday 11th June. The first match is at home to Clonoe, time of match is still to be confirmed. All players and parents are to stay in contact with the Under 12 management for further details.
Under 8 Go Games Blitz
The next Under 8’s Blitz is scheduled for this Saturday 4th June and will be hosted by Brocagh. All players and parents are to stay in contact with the Under 8 management for details.
Youth Fundraising
All members of youth teams are participating in a “Guess The Score” competition for the upcoming Tyrone v Monaghan Ulster SFC game on Sunday 5th June. It costs £1 to enter. Please show your support for our youth teams.
Ulster Under 16 Elite Squad
Well done to Enda McElroy who has been chosen to be part of the Under 16 squad picked for the Ulster Training Camp.
Tyrone Under 15 Development Squad
Well done to Conor McKenna who played for Tyrone Under 15 Development Squad in their recent tournaments.
Tyrone Minors
Well done to Matthew Jones and Philip Barker who played for Tyrone Minors in their win over Monaghan in the first round of the Ulster championship last Sunday evening in Brewster Park, Enniskillen.
Club Lotto
Winning Lotto numbers for Monday 23rd May were 6, 7, 9 and 10. There were five Match 3 winners: Kaitlin Gallagher, Kate McVeigh (Eglish Road), Stephen Treanor, Pamela Daly and Sean Hutchinson (Beechville). Lotto Jackpot for Monday 6th June is £2,750.
Irish Language Scholarship
Any students attending the Irish College summer 2011 and wishing to apply for a scholarship should give their names to Siobhan Hughes by 31st May.
Club Website
The new club website will be going live this Friday 3rd June. Make sure to check out all the latest club news, results and fixtures on www.eglishgfc.com! The new website will keep everyone in the club updated and is designed to be user friendly to give all our members, supporters and anyone interested, weekly updates on events both on and off the playing field. You can sign up to our mailing list to receive these weekly updates. There are sections for youth and adult teams in both football and Camogie and a section for Scor too. You can read a history of our club and view photos of teams, events and players over the years.
Congratulations to our senior footballers Steven Daly and Pete McCann who won the ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ competition hosted by the Tyrone Camogie Board.

Senior Results & Fixtures
The Senior team continued their winning ways when they defeated Brocagh in the Tyrone All County league.
The Seniors play Dungannon on Wednesday 1st June in Eglish at 7pm. They continue their matches in Derry league when they play Ballinderry on Friday 3rd June in Ballinderry.
Underage Fixtures
The Post Primary team play Moortown in the league on Saturday 4th June, and on Monday 6th June they play Derrylaughlan in the championship.
Training continues for U10, U8 and U6 on Saturday morning’s form 10-11.
Colleges All Star
Congratulations to Aisling Jordan who received her Colleges All Star on Friday 20th May in Walsh’s Hotel, Maghera. Aisling was one of 15 girls selected to receive a Colleges All Star from all the colleges in Ulster. For the first time the 2011 Ulster Colleges All-Star team went on to win the All Ireland Colleges Inter Provincial Competition.
Sale of Goods
The club is hosting a sale of goods in the club grounds on Saturday 11th June at 10am. There will be a variety of goods on sale, everyone welcome.
Stars in Your Eyes Winners
Congratulations to local Eglish lads Steven Daly and Pete McCann who were winners of the Tyrone Camogie Stars in your eyes. The boys who had a powerful performance beat of stiff competition from the other clubs. Well done to the Tyrone Camogie County Board for a great night’s entertainment.
