Camogie Club Notes

Senior Camogie

Last Wednesday neighbors’ Tullysaran travelled to Eglish for a tough challenge game. The game was a physical encounter with some excellent passages of play and resulted in a good win for the home side.

On Sunday morning, the senior camogs departed Eglish early to play Dublin Juniors. The game was played at high intensity and a fast pace throughout and was a great learning experience for both the younger and more experienced players alike. Unfortunately the girls came up short at the final whistle but went on to enjoy their day out in Croke Park to watch the All Ireland hurling semifinal. Many thanks to the Dublin County Board for their kind hospitality after the game.

This week, the Tyrone League resumes with the girls away to Eire Og on Wednesday night. Time to be confirmed.

Training continues on Friday night at 6.15pm.

U16

Good luck to the players and management of the U16 team when they play Fr. Shields, Greencastle in the semifinal of the Championship this week. Day and time still to be confirmed – all players will be notified a.s.a.p.

U14

Congratulations to the U14s who had a good win over Moortown in the Championship final last Monday night in Eglish. They now advance to the final on Saturday 24th August.

Training continues on Friday evening at 5pm – 6.15pm.

Tiny Tots

Training continues for the U6, U8 and U10s on Saturday mornings at 10am – 11am. With the large numbers of young children attending, the club would be very grateful if any parents could stay and lend a hand during this hour.

Mr & Mrs

In just over two weeks, on Friday 30th August, eight couples will take to the stage in Eglish to publicly show how much they know about each other – or perhaps how much they don’t know in some cases!

The couples are not the only ones locked in battle this night however, as eight brave men are fighting it out to have their legs waxed. Although this may be one encounter that they are happy to loose! It is up to the voting public to decide who they want to see beside the wax pot so keep the votes rolling in!

This promises to be a great night’s fun and entertainment so secure your tickets early by contacting any of the camogie committee or any of the senior players.
